LEARNING THROUGH MUSIC

It has been scientifically proven that musical experiences in early childhood can accelerate the development of a child’s brain. Language and reading in particular are most affected. Learning to play a musical instrument and musical theory in general, help to improve mathematical skills, not to mention the hand-eye coordination that is required to play an instrument. Music stimulates all areas of a child’s development from the fine motor skills, to the intellectual, emotional, social and language skills, literacy, and memory. The rhythmic patterns and melody of music provide exercises for the brain and help one develop memory.

I read a passage about this once that got me thinking, they asked, “Who can say they learned the ABC’s without the ABC song?” -Not me!  (I remember thinking “elemeno” was a fun word to sing before getting to “P”! Haha!). Exposing children to music from a young age helps children develop in so many ways and I can’t wait to share them with all of you.
